Bible Verses About Anxiety

You are not alone. Whether you’re a longtime believer, quietly exploring faith, or feeling skeptical—this is a safe place to bring your worries into the light and take one gentle step toward peace.

In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6–7

Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

John 14:27

When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you. In God, I praise his word. In God, I put my trust. I will not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?

Psalm 56:3–4

In the multitude of my thoughts within me, your comforts delight my soul.

Psalm 94:19

For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.

Joshua 1:9

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from God’s love, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:38–39

Yahweh is my shepherd: I shall lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul… Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me…

Psalm 23:1–4

Putting it into practice

  1. 1Name the worry. Write one sentence: “I feel anxious about ___.”
  2. 2Choose one verse. Read it slowly twice. Let it be louder than your fear.
  3. 3Turn it into prayer. Replace “you” with “me” and speak it to God.
  4. 4Take one small step. Text a friend, drink water, take a walk, or do the next right thing.
  5. 5Connect. If you want, share a prayer request or testimony—this is a community.

Father, You see what I’m carrying. I bring my worries to You right now. Please guard my heart and mind with Your peace. Give me wisdom for my next step, and strength for today. Help me trust You—one moment at a time. In Jesus’ name, amen.
